Feelin hot hot hot

What a week, hot weather and sunshine, finally some summer.

Thursday night we attended Ryder's 3rd birthday party. Luckily we had swimsuits for the kids because they enjoyed an evening of playing in the pool. Hailey and Ryder jumped in and out while Dylan splashed himself and drank from the hose...ice cold water, yikes. They also played on the Tikes inflatable slide. We had burgers and hot dogs for dinner, then cake and presents. We had a great evening in the sun.

Our little ladies man!

Friday night we left for the lake. We couldn't wait to get out there. The Coopers arrived shortly after we did. We set up, put the boat in and put the kids to bed. After snacking on some peanuts by the fire we turned in.

Saturday started out hot. We had pancake breakfast and then took a boat ride. We had a dip in the middle of the lake to cool off and then Darcy and I each took a run on the wake board before heading back for lunch. Dylan slept through our first swim so we made him a wagon pool to cool off in. The only problem was it seems his sunscreen accumulated in the small amount of water and really irritated his eye.

The girls must have spent hours on the swings. They loved it, luckily they were shaded by the trees. Naturally we broke out the blender early in the day, enjoying some refreshing slushy beverages. Dylan and Hailey napped before we took another spin on the lake. We had 5 minutes of rain and then the sun returned. We jumped in and out of the boat for quite awhile before wake boarding again.

We returned to camp for dinner and it seemed too much for the girls because after a full day of sunshine and fresh air they were a bit crabby. We barely made it through dinner and it was time for all the wee ones to go to bed. After that Darcy and Kara did some fishing off the dock while we got the fire going. I roasted a few marshmallows.
