The Easter Bunny

Saturday afternoon Darcy went to the hockey game so Hailey and I hung out at home. We joined friends for Sushi dinner in the evening. Hailey and I shared the teryaki chicken and she didn't seem to notice that she was eating vegetables while she enjoyed her veggie tempura. She also really liked the Edamame which is surprising because it is nutritious and green which usually means Hailey won't eat it. Her appetite has gotten better recently though, she is starting to try more and more items all of the time.

Sunday morning Hailey woke excited to see that the Easter Bunny had visited during the night and hid a bunch of candy filled Easter eggs for her. She collected the eggs with very little help from us, but got a bit distracted near the end when she discovered there was chocolate inside! After a morning sugar rush Hailey had a bit of an off day. She was kind of cranky and wasn't interested in cooperating. We did some painting, with brushes this time which seems to be Hailey's preference -- and mine. We managed to get her bathed, hair dried and into her dress and tights. We went to Sean & Robyn's for Easter brunch. We watched a movie while Hailey napped and then we went for an evening visit with Papa Joe.

Monday morning it was very disappointing to return to work. Hailey is home with us because we do not have childcare today. First thing this morning she wanted to know if the Easter Bunny was here again and was disappointed to find that breakfast included no candy, no chocolate. It was just toast and cantaloupe. Today Darcy and I are trying to work while keeping Hailey busy. She played with toys, watched a movie and did some painting. Before lunch we went for a windy walk around the neighborhood to see if we could find some puddles for Hailey to splash in. There were surprisingly few but the fresh air was great. Now to get some afternoon work done.
