Potty Training at the Lake

Kara, Ryan, Willow and Bridget joined us this weekend at the lake. Despite a little rain, we had a wonderful time. It was their first weekend out in their brand new trailer.

Willow and Hailey play very well together and with a little influence from Willow we made great progress with potty training. Until this weekend, Hailey hasn't been interested in using the potty. We had a few successes previously but she seemed to still prefer to go in a diaper. At the lake she is outside most of the time so she does not wear a diaper and she was very excited about being a big girl peeing on the potty. Hopefully we can keep up momentum now that we are home!

We took the girls for a walk along the beach and quad trail. It was very windy on the beach but Hailey and Willow loved throwing rocks in the water. When we reached the trail we found that the sun was very warm and there were lots of interesting things to see. They took quite an interest in the flowers, wild mushrooms, butterflies and berries. They sampled the only berry Kara and I recognized, teeny tiny strawberries.

Sunday evening we arrived home, started laundry and unpacked. We decided to go out to eat and invited Grandma Linda and Grandpa Ken to join us. After dinner we did a bit of shopping and soon after we arrived home it was bedtime. We were so glad to climb into our bed at home, the bed in our trailer is very uncomfortable and we looked forward to a comfortable night.
