Turns out all we need to entertain Hailey is chap stick! Who knew?! After a bit of shopping we decided to stop for pizza. Hailey was tired and uncooperative, she quickly grew bored of the coloring book and crayons our server brought over. I searched my purse to find some means of entertainment, she wasn't interested in credit cards, keys or the mirror but when I handed her my chap stick her eyes lit up and she was quiet pretty much until the food arrived.

We started celebrating Christmas very early this year. We hosted dinner and opened gifts with Sean and Robyn on the 12th this year, since they are traveling East to visit Robyn's family.
We traveled to Calgary on the 13th. The weather was terrible, it was icy which made for an extra long drive. Hailey didn't mind the drive, she slept most of the way and then watched part of a movie on the laptop. I on the other hand sat white knuckled as we made our way up icy highway 2 counting the vehicles in the ditch...12 semi trucks!!! When we arrived, our first order of business was dinner with Laurie and Dave. We had a great meal and Hailey was all giggles and grins.
Hailey spent a few work days with me at the hotel. I worked and she played. We ordered room service which she seemed to get a kick out of, she was very well behaved. On Friday night, we had our company Christmas party. The party was pretty good, nice to see our coworkers, we only get to see each other a few times each year. Reny came to watch Hailey at the hotel for us. She brought Hailey some super Christmas presents.
On Saturday we went to visit Grandma Cindy. Grandma gave Hailey two beautiful Christmas outfits which I can't wait for her to try on. Hailey surprised us by counting to 11 all by herself. She counts all the time but usually skips the even numbers. She also delightfully sings Twinkle Twinkle little star and when she is in the mood will sing us ABCs.
Sunday morning we went for a walk downtown Calgary, the shops were closed but the Devonian Gardens were open in the mall so we took Hailey there to see the fountains and ponds and to feed the goldfish. They also had a park which Hailey had lots of fun playing in. Sunday afternoon Hailey and I drove home, daddy stayed in Calgary for a few extra days.
